David Parker is a General
Evangelist in the United Methodist Church. He and his wife,
Alice Jean, are currently working together in Ascribe
Ministries where their passion is bringing people to Jesus
Christ where they may “Ascribe unto God…glory” – Psalm
29:1-2, as peoples’ lives are transformed by the living
Christ through the Holy Spirit.
David pastored for 28 years; spent 3 years as an
evangelistic missionary in Sierra Leone, West Africa; and
will be entering his fifth year in full time evangelistic
ministry.
He is a graduate of Asbury
College and Asbury Theological Seminary. He and his wife
have worked in camp meetings; retreats for youth, churches,
missionaries; singing together and she leading worship,
playing various instruments, doing chalk art, and
multi-sensory worship experiences. They have been involved
in short term missions in Haiti and Russia.
David and Alice Jean have four children: three are married,
with four grandchildren and all are involved in ministry of
the Gospel. One is in Israel, one is preparing to go to
England, one is in the pastorate in Western Pa. and the
fourth uses art and music to minister in her home church.
David was born in Decatur, Illinois. His journey in coming
to know Christ as Savior began in Alvarado, Texas and ended
at an altar in Wilmore, Kentucky. His call to ministry is to
make Christ known and to see people built up in the faith.
His desire is to hear God’s call and word, to answer yes and
to speak what he has received.

Rev. Alice Jean Parker was born
in Western Pa. Her father was a United Methodist Minister.
As a child she went with her family to Belgium and Congo as
missionaries. She began her personal relationship with the
Lord as a small child. She received her B.A. in art and
music education from Asbury College. She has been an art and
music teacher, a counselor, a choir director, Good News Club
teacher, and a pastor. Alice Jean and her husband, David,
were missionaries in Sierra Leone, West Africa. Alice Jean
has had a love of sharing the gospel in every way possible
since her teen years. She has gone on short term mission
trips to Haiti and Russia. She has led retreats and
seminars, and many types of programs for all ages with chalk
art and many varieties of music. Hobbies include sewing,
knitting, painting, crafts, swimming, hiking, singing, cross
country skiing, and playing musical instruments. Her
ultimate desire is to be a part in any way of leading people
to wholeness in body, soul, and spirit, with freedom in
Christ and walking as a growing disciple and to teach people
to Worship the Lord continually, using all their senses God
has given.
The Parkers have been blessed with four children. The
oldest, Heather is a “stay at home Mommy” now with our
granddaughters, Laylah and Naavah, and a third on its way
-while her husband, Seth, pastors a church. Ben (oldest
son), his wife, Rachel, and grandchildren Elianah and Simeon
are missionaries in Jerusalem. Alex and his wife, Amanda are
in the process of raising money to go as missionaries to
Coalchester, England – to work with university students.
Alyssa is in Jerusalem helping out and is gifted as an
encourager and makes beautiful pottery.
